Mr Jason Auld MB BS BSc FRCS (TR & Orth)

GMC no: 3678527 - Specialist Register since 2005

Mr Auld is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, specialising in hip replacement, full or partial knee replacement and sports injury, including knee ligament reconstruction and cartilage repair. His skills in arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) ensure that patients can access a full range of treatment.

Since completing medical training in London in 1992, Mr Auld has focused on orthopaedics. His higher surgical training in Oxford was followed by a Fellowship in hip and knee surgery, in Sydney, Australia in 2004.

Gaining specialist accreditation led Mr Auld to be appointed as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon in 2005 in Northampton, a place where he continues to support NHS care alongside his dedicated private practice.

An individual Focus

Being at the top of your profession is a great start, as is keeping up with the latest developments to offer optimum treatment. The way this is delivered matters greatly, with personal care so important to outcome and recovery.

Mr Auld ensures that everyone is treated on an individual basis and given ample time throughout their journey. Two consultancy appointments before decision making are usually required, to ensure conditions are accurately diagnosed and treatment options are fully discussed.

This ensures all your needs are met and helps to dispel uncertainty. Mr Auld appreciates that having an operation can be daunting, he will provide the same level of support from first meeting, to full recovery.

Medical Excellence

Mr Auld employs modern anaesthetic and surgical techniques, to help achieve a rapid return to fitness. The surgical implants he selects will be suited to each patient and offer proven, long term results.

He believes in surgical intervention being monitored longer term and submits his work in anonymised format to the National Joint Registry, a UK wide, online facility, where you can see how well an orthopaedic surgeon performs.

Doing so is a helpful sign of confidence and of honesty. Mr Auld takes pleasure in answering questions openly and if the scientific evidence is that a patient’s condition can't be helped by surgery, or if non surgical care is the solution, he will say so.

Mr Auld is valued within the medical fraternity, recognised as a trainer by the GMC, a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Most importantly, he is valued by his patients and enjoys hearing from them when they return to sports or activities they love, or take a holiday. Your ability to get back to normal life is a reward he shares.
